As a part of one of Isle of Man Government’s largest projects – the refurbishment of the Douglas promenade, the MyProm Project Team and The Isle of Man Arts Council held a competition in 2019 for local artists to submit designs to be mounted on 4 large granite bollards at 2 new pedestrian crossings. I won the competition with 6 designs that look at stand-out elements of the Isle of Man which are; water, fairy tales, wildlife, Douglas promenade, road races and sport. I wanted to tie these elements in with a Celtic knot design so all designs have a similar design language and can be recognised as one project. All of the designs were hand drawn and finalised in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
